Liverpool legend Steve Nicol believes his former club were "atrocious" in Wednesday night's 3-1 win over Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena.

"But, to be fair, we did have top centre-halves at the time as well".

"The other 25% is covered by Van Dijk".

"I think we all know his flaws and one of his biggest flaws was his inconsistency because I don't think he was quite sure what he was going to do, never mind the defenders or anybody else".

Klopp has made a huge impression at Liverpool since moving to English football in 2015, and guided the Reds to the Champions League final last season.

"I really think this club deserves to have awareness again".

The 27-year-old was imperious in defence, too.

That £75 million Liverpool paid for him is starting to look like a bargain.

It's unclear whether or not she will be expelled from the school. "I'm disappointed in myself", she said of the partying comment. And those totals don't account for a cut in sales she likely receives from her sponsored-content posts.

Some might argue that Mane or Mohamed Salah are more likely to be Liverpool's match-winners in their quest to win a sixth European Cup this season, but Van Dijk is the player who provides the platform for the forwards to perform, and that is why he is becoming as important to Liverpool as Ronaldo is to Juventus (and was to Real Madrid) and Messi is to Barcelona. They were the better team over the two matches. He has brought the same defensive organisation, but with more time and space to use his ball-playing abilities, he has also enabled Liverpool to be more dynamic playing out from the back.

"It was brilliant", he said when asked about Van Dijk's performance, per Goal.

"All of the teams have gone through to the next round, and for us of course it was really good because we managed to win an away game at Bayern Munich - which is quite hard".

"We kept the contest open until Liverpool's second goal".

"We were up against very, very strong opponents", Kovac admitted.

Liverpool are now going toe to toe with Manchester City for the Premier League title, while Klopp is under contract at Anfield until 2022.

The Champions League round of 16 saw the Premier League's four representatives - Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Tottenham - each deliver a serious statement of intent as they booked their place in Friday's draw for the latter stages.
