Indian police arrested six university students for playing PUBG

PUBG’s been banned in India, and at least 16 players have been arrested

PUBG Mobile has now been banned in certain Indian cities

Last week, Surat, Rajkot, and Vadodara had placed a ban on the highly popular and addictive PUBG. Days after Rajkot banned the game, Bhavnagar and Gir Somnath districts of the state too issued a notification banning the game in public. Conviction under Section 188 carries either a maximum prison sentence of one month, a 200 rupee fine (roughly $3), or both. "The case will go to the courts and there will be a trial for not following the notification issued", said Police Commissioner Manoj Agrawal to the Indian Express. Three more arrests were made from nearby Police Headquarters and the police even seized their phones "for the goal of investigation". The ban on the said games was issued by the authorities after claiming that the violent games were causing adverse behavioural change amongst its players.

PUBG Mobile has issued a statement on the recent arrests in Rajkot, Gujarat of players, after the game was banned in the city, saying the company is trying to understand the legal basis of the same. "Our team caught these youth red-handed", Rohit Raval, Rajkot Special Operations Group police inspector, said. After arrestees have been booked, "they will be shown as immediately bailed out by police".

Mkhitaryan slotted the ball down the left to Kolasinac, who in turn set up Aubameyang in front of goal for another simple finish. It did not matter in the end, though, as Rennes failed to find a way through at the other end.

The police department seized the mobile phones from these three men for investigation, while what ground-breaking findings the police department may find from the phones of the arrested men other than the installed game is unknown to us but we're on the lookout, if any evidence comes, we'll notify you. "In consonance with our endeavour to continue promoting responsible gaming experience, we are working on the introduction of a healthy gameplay system in India to promote balanced, responsible gaming, including limiting play time for under-aged players", PUBG Mobile added.

"Due to these games, the education of children and youth are being affected and it affects the behaviour, manners, speech and development of the youth and children", an order by local police dated March 6, said. "As parents, we must guide our children to get the most from technology", he said.
